Illinois State Representative Will Davis and Nicor Gas Host a Supplier Diversity Workshop in South Suburbs

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Nov 18, 2013 – Nicor Gas will join Illinois Rep. Will Davis, 30th District, in hosting a workshop that will feature presentations and networking opportunities for small and diverse businesses interested in learning more about the company’s supplier diversity program.
The “Creating Opportunities for Diverse Suppliers” workshop, which is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Prairie State College, is a developmental opportunity designed to help educate a diverse group of potential contractors, vendors and professional service companies about the supply chain process and the best practices to identify contracting opportunities.
Representatives will discuss the requirements, regulations and resources available to help guide applicants through the supply chain process at Nicor Gas and its parent company, AGL Resources. Attendees will also hear from diverse companies who have pioneered the pathways to productive business relationships in the energy marketplace.
Rep. Davis will be joined by Nicor Gas President Beth Reese, who will kick off the workshop with opening remarks.
