The improvements we are making to our infrastructure through Investing in Illinois will allow us to continue to deliver natural gas safely and reliably to our customers.
At Nicor Gas, we don’t just think about this underground pipeline – we design, install, operate and maintain more than 34,000 miles of pipeline infrastructure across northern Illinois.More on Economic Development
Nicor Gas does business with many contractors and suppliers. We are committed to developing relationships with and increasing opportunities for diverse suppliers that provide quality, competitive prices and services for all of its subsidiaries.
Our Supplier Diversity program is based upon four foundational principles: Advocacy, Development, Procurement and Reporting. We are committed to advocating both internally and externally the use of diverse suppliers, developing them through mentoring, education and training opportunities, procuring goods and services through a diverse network of business partners, and reporting our progress through internal and external mechanisms to ensure our accountability is measured. Together, these principles set the foundation for our success.
We are committed to doing business with a diverse group of qualified companies that reflect our customer base and the areas we serve. If you are a diverse supplier and would like more information on becoming a business partner with us, click here.
Nicor Gas is a proud member of Illinois Utilities Business Diversity Council. The council was formed in June 2015 and was created to grow business opportunities for diverse suppliers through closer collaboration, technical development and sharing of best practices.
At Nicor Gas, we have company-wide initiatives that promote recycling, waste prevention and the use of remanufactured products that reduce the amount of waste going to local landfills.
We also have programs in place to recycle used motor oil, scrap metal and fluorescent light bulbs – even carpeting.
