Fueling Growth Through Partnership: Nicor Gas and Incobrasa Industries

Nicor Gas employees once again demonstrated their commitment to the communities they serve during the company’s 30th Annual Volunteer Week. Team members came together across the region to lend their time, energy and passion to organizations making a difference where it matters most.

This year’s effort included 30 volunteer events in partnership with 25 community organizations. In total, 249 unique employee volunteers completed 332 volunteer shifts, contributing an impressive 859 hours of service.

The impact reached far beyond those numbers. Employees helped provide food to more than 180 community members at Food for Greater Elgin and served 174 lunches at Hesed House. Volunteers also packed enough food at the Greater Chicago Food Depository to help feed 8,190 households and assembled more than 23,700 meals with Northern Illinois Food Bank.

In addition to fighting food insecurity, employees assembled 1,400 hygiene care kits for the Safer Foundation and built two picnic tables for residents at Mercy Housing, helping create welcoming spaces for families to gather.

For three decades, Nicor Gas employees have dedicated their time and talents to strengthening the communities they proudly serve. As this milestone year shows, that commitment remains as strong as ever — and they’re just getting started.
