Transportation Customers

About

Business customers can purchase all supplies from Nicor Gas as a "sales service" customer, choose an alternative supplier under Customer Select, or elect to become a transportation customer under Rider 25 or one of the unbundled transportation rates: Rate 74, 75, 76 or 77. Customers who can secure supplies at costs lower than our commodity gas cost can see considerable savings.

Rider 25
Rider 25 is a fully-bundled service under which customers can transport their own supplies. A fixed storage capacity is assigned to each customer equivalent to 30 times their Maximum Daily Contract Quantity (MDCQ). Each customer is fully backed up, and any supplies required in excess of customer-owned gas will be provided by Nicor Gas at the commodity gas cost.

Effective June 1, 2021 Nicor Gas will no longer accept applications to the Rider 25 program. The Order sunsets the program on May 1, 2023 at which time service under Rider 25 will no longer be available.

Customers served under Rider 25 will need to make a selection by February 1, 2023 to switch to another Transportation Rate (Rate 74, Rate 75, Rate 76, Rate 77, Rate 4-Rider 15, or Rate 5-Rider 15) or Sales service (Rate 4, Rate 5, Rate 6 or Rate 7 receiving Company supplied gas). Customers that do not make a selection by February 1, 2023 will default to Sales service.

Groups
Customers that have more than one account in our service territory may form groups. Grouping allows consolidation of administrative activities such as nominating gas.

As a transportation customer, it is important to understand the rates and service options available, so that you can make energy decisions that are the best fit for your needs. Any questions you may have can be directed to customercare@nicorgas.com."
