Recently, our team set out to visit two of our valued partners, LyondellBasell and Morris Cogen, to see firsthand how our gas fuels their operations. Our first stop was the LyondellBasell Morris Plant, a titan in the chemical industry with 55 years of innovation behind it. Walking through their sprawling facility, we saw the hum of precision and scale as natural gas-powered complex processes to create essential materials. From ethylene and propylene to high- and low-density polyethylene, their products shape everyday life—textiles that clothe us, food packaging that protects our groceries, home furnishings that bring comfort, automotive parts that keep us moving, medical products that save lives and even wire coatings that connect our world. Standing amidst the machinery, it hit us: our reliable energy isn’t just fuel, it’s the backbone of innovation, sustainability and progress.
Next, we visited Morris Cogen, a facility dedicated to combined heat and power generation. Here, our gas drives a different kind of mission: efficiency. Their systems maximize energy output while minimizing waste, creating clean, reliable power that aligns with Nicor Gas’ commitment to a sustainable future. As we toured their operations, we saw how every process was designed to reduce environmental impact while delivering steady energy to the grid.
