When Incobrasa Industries marked a major milestone with its $250 million expansion in Gilman, Illinois, the Nicor Gas team was proud to be part of the story. For nearly 30 years, Nicor Gas has served Incobrasa, a company with more than five decades of leadership in the agricultural and renewable energy sectors. Through the production of biodiesel, vegetable oil and animal feed, Incobrasa continues to strengthen Illinois’ role in sustainable energy and food production.

Natural gas plays a vital role in Incobrasa’s operations, fueling boilers and crop dryers that keep production moving efficiently. To support the company’s ambitious growth plans through 2030, Nicor Gas recently completed a major infrastructure expansion project. The work included installing more than three miles of 8-inch steel main, along with new regulation and metering facilities—upgrades that will enable Incobrasa to double its production capacity.

This energy investment complements Incobrasa’s expanded substation and solar array, showcasing how an all-of-the-above energy strategy can drive business growth while advancing sustainability. The expansion is projected to generate over $800,000 in annual property tax revenue, increase employment by 25%, and boost soybean processing capacity from 43 million to 98 million bushels annually, a win for both the company and the local community.
