Supporting a Glenview Business for the Next Generation

For nearly 60 years, Peter Nestos's family-owned sandwich shop has been a staple of the Glenview, IL community. When the opportunity arose to relocate and expand as part of the downtown Glenview revitalization project, Peter saw a chance to continue the family legacy while serving more customers and creating new jobs.

The move from a 900-square-foot restaurant to a newly constructed 1,500-square-foot location required new energy infrastructure to support essential equipment, including grills, fryers, steam tables and heating and cooling systems. Natural gas was Peter's preferred choice because of its reliability and performance for restaurant operations.

To support the project, Nicor Gas installed a new natural gas service line and worked closely with the construction team to navigate property line and utility placement challenges. Through ongoing communication and collaboration, the project remained on schedule and the restaurant opened as planned.

"Nicor has been wonderful, reliable and timely. They were very prompt to respond and maintained wonderful communication throughout the entire process,” said Peter.

Today, the expanded restaurant is helping revitalize downtown Glenview while creating opportunities for future growth. For Peter, the partnership with Nicor Gas played an important role in bringing that vision to life.
