NAPERVILLE, Ill. – April 17, 2024 - Nicor Gas is announcing $100,000 in funding to support diversity initiatives aimed at addressing disparities based on race, national origin, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, veteran status and physical disabilities.
Community organizations and nonprofits may apply for a grant from Nicor Gas to support their diversity initiatives at nicorGas.com/CharitableGiving. Applications will be accepted through June 30 with funding decisions by the end of August. Selected nonprofits and community organizations will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 in grant funds this year.
"We recognize the vital roles diversity, equity and inclusion play in building resilient communities, and we are dedicated to supporting organizations and initiatives that offer education and resources to underserved and underrepresented individuals," said Jackie Nagel, manager of Community Affairs at Nicor Gas.
As the largest natural gas provider in Illinois, Nicor Gas recognizes the importance of promoting diversity, inclusion, education and access to resources. This commitment reflects the company's belief in strengthening communities and fostering a more diverse and inclusive workforce across the state.
