Nicor Gas and local fire departments team up to promote natural gas safety

NAPERVILLE, IL – Sept. 14, 2024 - Nicor Gas is dedicated to ensuring the safety of every customer and community it serves. In partnership with local fire departments across its Northern Illinois service territory, Nicor Gas is launching its annual public education program. This marks the 19th year of Nicor Gas' involvement in the safety awareness campaign, which will run throughout October to coincide with National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 6 – 12).

Nicor Gas volunteers will provide essential information and resources to help families understand how to respond in the unlikely event of a natural gas emergency. The program includes interactive demonstrations designed to teach safety tips, even to the youngest attendees.
