Nicor Gas, local fire departments team up to promote natural gas safety

Public education program now in its 17th year, coincides with National Fire Prevention Week

NAPERVILLE, IL – September 16, 2022 – Nicor Gas is committed to the safety of every customer and community it serves and is partnering with local fire departments across its northern Illinois service territory for an annual public education program. This year marks the 17th year of Nicor Gas’ participation in the safety awareness campaign that will run through the end of October, coinciding with National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 9 – 15). 

Nicor Gas volunteers will share important information and resources to help families know how to respond in the unlikely event of a natural gas emergency. Even the youngest of attendees can learn safety tips through this interactive demonstration.
